Psychoanalytic Consultation
and Business Mentorship

For therapists who refuse to choose between clinical depth and a sustainable livelihood.

Minimalist living room with black sofa, coffee table, side table, and decorative vase in a bright, open space.

Most therapists receive years of training in how to think clinically, but very little support in how to translate that clinical mind into a practice that can actually hold them over time.

We're rarely given spaces to think openly about fees, boundaries, growth, visibility, or sustainability, especially in ways that align with psychoanalytic values rather than contradict them.

Whether you're an associate focused on getting hours while quietly wondering what comes next, or a licensed clinician who is technically established but uncertain about how to evolve without losing depth or integrity — the split between "clinical work" and "business" is something most of us have felt. As though caring about one means compromising the other.

But the way you structure your practice, set fees, and make professional decisions is inseparable from your clinical life. Avoiding the business side doesn't preserve analytic depth instead it often erodes it through burnout, overextension, or quiet resentment.

This group is designed to hold both. Not optimization or growth for its own sake, but coherence: between your values, your work, and the way you earn your living.

  • I thought it would take me years to make the income I made six months into working with Thaís. So much of it is because I feel like I don’t have to hold all of the hard stuff that comes up in my business by myself. Getting support allows me to support others in such a better way.

why this group exists

I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and the founder of the SLO Psychoanalytic Society. My training has included years of immersion in analysis, long-term psychoanalytic supervision, and group process. I care deeply about preserving spaces where clinical work can be thought about with curiosity and seriousness rather than reduced to technique or performance.

But I also have an undergraduate degree in business. And before I became a therapist, I spent years mentoring practitioners in the wellness field through the real questions of building a practice: how to talk about money, how to find the right clients, how to be visible without feeling exposed, how to grow without losing yourself in the process.

For a long time I kept those two parts of my professional life separate, as though bringing them together would compromise one or both. This group is what happened when I stopped doing that.

It exists because I believe the split between clinical seriousness and practical sustainability is a false one. And because I've seen what becomes possible for therapists when they finally have a space where both are taken seriously at the same time.

I created this multi-dimensional consultation group because I couldn't find anything like it when I needed it.

  • Thais' mentorship has been nothing short of transformative. I came to her with a desire to grow my practice, but what I received was so much more including a space to clarify my voice, deepen my clinical identity, and approach marketing in a way that feels ethical, soulful, and uniquely mine. Thais doesn’t offer formulas; she offers attunement, insight, and a depth of presence that invites you to bring your whole self to your work. So grateful for her!

This group is for the therapist who chose this work because it matters.

Who sits with their patients with genuine care and curiosity, and wants to keep getting better at it. Who has also, quietly, been wondering how to build a practice that doesn't slowly deplete them.

You may be an associate who is focused on getting hours but already thinking about what comes next — what kind of clinician you want to become, what kind of practice you want to build, and how to do both without compromising either.

Or you may be licensed, established even, but sensing that something in your professional life needs to shift. You want to think more deeply about your clinical work. You want your practice to be more sustainable. You've just never found a space that took both seriously at the same time. This group was built for you.
