happy new year from women's leadership coach thais

I wanted to send you a quick note to say - I appreciate you.

Whether you have it all together, or feel like everything is falling apart. Whether you have it all figured out or still learning as you go. I appreciate you.

Honestly, I don't think we get told that enough. If you're anything like me, you only feel worthy of love and compliments when you are on top of the world.

But I want to let you know that it doesn't matter to me. It doesn't matter if you are always happy or not. It doesn't matter if you haven't meditated in five days or five years. It doesn't matter if you lost your temper to your mom yesterday - I still appreciate you.

Unfortunately, I think too often we think we must be perfect in order to be loved {or liked. or cared for. etc etc}. If we are not perfect, then we have to at least pretend, to ourselves and to others. Or we go in the other extreme and make it a point to prove to everyone how imperfect we are, secretly hoping they will make us feel... perfect.

Have you seen this play out in your life? The last time you messed up or acted in a way you regretted, did you accept it as a mistake and move on or did you give yourself a hard time for hours/days/months after?

What we forget is that our soul IS perfect. Deep down beyond all the layers of personality, our soul is a perfect expression of the divine. The danger lies in thinking we are our mind and not our soul. When we believe that we are our thoughts and beliefs, we unconsciously believe that in order to be appreciated and loved we have to perfect the Ego.

But, sister, this Ego is inherently imperfect. The mind is inherently imperfect. No matter how much we try to think and act perfectly, we will not. It's impossible.

What IS possible is to tap back into the soul as often as freakin' possible. To continuously make space in our hearts for all of our "imperfections." To acknowledge the messiness that is the human personality. To remember that that's why we are on this planet - to be raw and real and to learn to love despite it all.

We learn to express the love of our soul by embracing all of who we are.

No mud, no lotus.

The crazy thing? Regardless of how connected you are with your true essence, regardless of how perfect or imperfect you feel you are, regardless of how much you love yourself, the Universe loves you. I promise. In fact, the Universe is sending you gifts ALL the time. Do you see them? We are always being pulled to our highest potential. All the time.

I know many of us get a little blue around this time of the year. I encourage you to take good care of yourself. Take time to be alone and to reflect. To meditate and journal. To take bubble baths and drink wine. Surround yourself with those who help your being. Make it a point to honor your needs, however crazy they may be. Whenever you feel a little overwhelmed, place a hand on your heart and tap into your breath. Inhale. Exhale. This too is a part of the grand experience of being human.

I appreciate you, in all your glory.

To your worth,
